Ending away again

Well, the new fixtures are out. Ipswich at home towards the end. Hope there is not too much riding on it, just our promotion and their relegation!

What I cannot make out is that we are away for the last game of the season for the umpteenth time on the trot. I say umpteenth (Norfolk speak for lots) because I cannot remember the last time we finished a season at home.

Still one consolation is that we are away on the first game which means I don't have to try to hurry back from holiday in Somerset to get to Carrow road in time, or have the better constantly telling me 'you won't ge there now' when stuck just a few miles away on the A11 in Thetford!

Hoolihan could sign

There has been speculation linking winger Wes Hoolahan with Norwich City with suggestions that he may sign for the Canaries today.

If my memory serves me correctly, he played very well for Blackpool against us this season and sounds like he could be a promising acquisition.

I hope if he does come to Norwich he does not have too much pressure put upon him. He is already being touted as a direct replacement for Huckerby and I am sure I am not the only one who tends to think that such comparisons due little to help a player settle in.

I'm behind Glen but....

There has been much said in recent times about our Manager Glen Roeder's treatment of Darren Huckerby. Darren Huckerby has been a hero for all but a few Norwich fans for a number of years and although I have heard one or two of my fan friends (Peter & Patrick) say that he is not the player he was, and perhaps we could do as well without him, I am sure they would not have wanted to see him leave in this way.

Having said this, I am behind Glen in terms of him being manager of Norwich City. I think he is a good manager and seems to have a clear plan of what he wants to do. Having made his decision about a Norwich hero, I just hope for his sake that we do well next season. If we do, then the situation of Huckerby will be if not forgotten at least excused. But if we do not do so well, he can expect to hear comments along the lines of "this would never have happened if we still had Huckerby"

Who would be a football manager?
